Mask "SARU"

 This mask is sculpted on a life cast of myself. I sculpted this based on a Japanese monkey(snow monkey) which is called "saru" in japanese. I wanted this piece to be a  strong look monkey, so tried to sculpt his hair is standing on end.

I'm going to mold this piece soon and cast in resin.

Lara Croft(Angelina Jolie) from "Tomb Raider"

This is a half life size of sculpture sculpted in oil based clay over wooden base and wire armature.
Then molded in silicone and plaster bandage shell.

After casted in smooth on's smooth cast325 with flesh pigment,  I painted with mainly clear colors.

Holiday sculpting

 Since I'm out of town for the holidays, I stopped something that I've been working on, instead of that I sculpted a servant of the palace under the sea.(inspired by Japanese folklore "Urashima Taro" ) this was a just quick sketch that I sculpted in few hours. I'm thinking this is going to be new piece for next year.

 I also sculpted our dog. those were sculpted in monster clay. it's really good for sculpt if you want to sculpt quickly. just put clay into a microwave, and warm it up few minutes. It doesn't have bad smell and non toxic.

Little fun

Made small portrait head in clay and casted in gelatine.

First I casted without no pigments, then I decided to add some pigment which is some fresh acrylic paint thinned with water.

After demoed it from a mold, I also add spatter paint.

This was a quick and fun little experiment. I put it on my desk, and a week later it shrunk and got mold.

Now, I also want to try to cast in silicone too.

I made a mold for Godzilla part, and test casted. It looks overall good.
Now I need to work on his teeth and MUTO's head.
